Keely & Michaela
“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”— Ernest Hemingway
My name is Keely Brazil. I am 25 and live in Northern California. I began Sky Blue as a freshman in college. I have a bachelor’s degree in print communications and have worked as a reporter for The Ukiah Daily Journal and as an editorial intern at The Washington Times. My work has been featured on the Drudge Report. You can read some of my clips here: http://keelybrazil.contently.com. Today, my sister and I work together making websites and managing online marketing for small businesses. Our business is called Go West Marketing.
The goal of Sky Blue is to stand as an alternative voice in the Millennial Christian blogosphere. As a girl who listens to Johnny Cash and Jimi Hendrix and does not know how to bake but still loves Jesus, I realized there were not a lot of blogs out there that I related to. There’s nothing wrong with the mold, but here’s my effort to write for the rest of us. Hope you are encouraged.
Hey I’m Michaela Brazil. I’m 23 and fresh out of school with a degree in accounting and finance. I currently work at one of the Big Four accounting firms, but on the weekends Keely and I moonlight as gypsies.
I’m the polar opposite of Sky Blue’s founder, Keely. We are the perfect team, because we tackle life in different ways. She’s the creative, visionary, dreamer who inspires. I’m black & white. I believe that the building blocks of our lives are important, and often ignored – I get excited about attaining excellence in those. I think that a beautiful life is a simple life and that excellence in little things is the secret to a life well lived.
If any of this makes sense to you then you’ll share my passion and excitement as I search for “the best” way to do — well, everything! Excited to get to share with you. xx
